Geblek is one of a traditional food from Kulon Progo beside growol. It is made from cassava likes growol. But the appearance of geblek is different with growol. From the colour, it is same, the colour is white but the shape of geblek is like numeral 0. The taste is delicious but it is fairly sticky or ‘alot’ in Indonesian.
It is more delicious if you eat it in warm condition. You can easily get geblek in traditional market in Kulon Progo. If you can not get it in the market, do not worry about it. You can find it along of the way in Kulon Progo easily. Usually, some people sell geblek with ‘tempe benguk’ or ‘gorengan’ like ‘bakwan, tahu susur’ and etcetera along the way in Kulon Progo.
Because of geblek is fairly sticky, it is different from the other tradirional foods in Kulon Progo, rather in the other places in Indonesia. The sensation if you eat geblek is fairly sticky. So if it is not fairly sticky it is not like eat geblek.
There are many tourism places in Kulon Progo, so you can easily get geblek near the tourism places. Do not forget to try it. If you come to Kulon Progo and you did not have oppurtunity to eat geblek, you will feel regret...!!
