Health education is a learning process, in this case means a process of development or change towards more and better know the individual self. Dental health education from an early age is very important, to prevent early tooth decay. The goal of prevention and early dental treatment is to get a state free of dental disease. The roles of the of parents and teachers is very influential on the child's behavior to maintain oral health. Oral health education is not targeted to children only, but parents also need to be knowledgeable about oral health. The role of parents and teachers need to know the extent of their role in teaching children to care for the health of their teeth by brushing. There are indicated that the students of Elementary School do not habituate the toothbrush yet and they do not know the importance of a toothbrush yet. This research aimed to determine how high the roles of the parents and the teachers in toothbrush habituating for the students of Elementary School.
This research was a descriptive research which used a survey method. The data collecting method used questionnaire. The subjects of this research were all students of Elementary School. The population of this research was 36 students. The data analyzing technique used descriptive analysis that was written on percentage form.
The results of this research showed that the overall roles of the parents and the teachers in toothbrush habituating for the students of Elementary School were mostly very high. In detailed, there were 13 students (36.11%) in the very high category, 10 students (27.78%) in the high category, 9 students (25.00%) in the low category, and 4 students (11.11%) in the very low category. It can be concluded that the role of parents and teachers in the habituation toothbrush is very high.
For your consideration and evaluation tool for teachers and schools to be able to provide support to their students in the habituation toothbrushes on dental hygiene students for their students awake.
